Moon Ditch / The Living Wall is a large-scale public mural designed and led by Elisa Torres, transforming an active Ventura County flood-control channel into one of California’s most ambitious civic mural projects. Spanning 160 panels, 35,780 square feet, and nearly one mile in length, the mural reimagines overlooked infrastructure as a place of movement, habitat, memory, and community. Through imagery of moonlit water, birds, fish, butterflies, flowers, and the surrounding urban landscape, the project celebrates those who pass, those who pause, and those who are unseen.
